How Do You Get a Magnezone in Black 2

Pokémon: Every Location-Based Evolution

There are some Pokémon that can only evolve when leveled up near a Moss Rock, an Ice Rock, within a magnetic field, or on a mountain in Alola.

The Pokémon series keeps introducing new methods of evolution, and Generation IV added one of the most frustrating of them all, as some Pokémon only evolved in specific places. There are locations in Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Hoenn, and Alola that hold the special power to evolve certain Pokémon.

Pokémon RedandBlueintroduced several different methods of evolution, with leveling up the Pokémon being the most common. There were some Pokémon that could only evolve when exposed to Evolution Stones, and a handful could only evolve when traded to another player. Over time, the developers added new forms of evolution, some of which involve scoring multiple crits in a single battle, or leveling up with a Dark-type Pokémon in the party.

One of the most annoying methods of evolution involved taking a Pokémon to a specific place and leveling them up, as it was easy for new players to not realize where they had to go. Here are all of the locations a player needs to visit in everyPokémon game to evolve their Pokémon.

Generation 4 (Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver)

The concept of location-based evolutions debuted inPokémon DiamondandPearl. In order to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon, the player needs to level it up near a rock next to trees in the southwestern part of Eterna Forest. In order to evolve an Eevee into a Glaceon, the player needs to level it up near a rock in the eastern part of Route 217. In order to evolve a Magneton into a Magnezone and a Nosepass into a Probopass, the player needs to level it up anywhere in Mt. Coronet.

Generation 5 (Pokémon Black/White/Black 2/White 2)

In order to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon, the player needs to level it up near a mossy rock in the southwestern section of Pinwheel Forest. In order to evolve an Eevee into a Glaceon, the player needs to level it up near an icy rock in the basement of Twist Mountain. In order to evolve a Magneton into a Magnezone and a Probopass into a Nosepass, the player needs to level it up in Chargestone Cave.

Generation 6 (Pokémon X/Y/Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire)

In order to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon in Kalos, the player needs to level it up near a mossy rock on Route 20. In order to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon in Hoenn, the player needs to level it up near a mossy rock in the northeastern part of Petalburg Woods. In order to evolve an Eevee into a Glaceon in Kalos, the player needs to level it up near an icy rock in the Frost Cavern. In order to evolve an Eevee into a Glaceon in Hoenn, the player needs to level it up near an icy rock in the bottom of the Shoal Cave. In order to evolve a Magneton into a Magnezone and a Nosepass into a Probopass in Kalos, the player needs to level it up on Route 13 (the one with the Power Plant). In order to evolve a Magneto into a Magnezone and a Nosepass into a Probopass in Hoenn, the player needs to level it up in the New Mauville power plant.

Generation 7 (Pokémon Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon)

In order to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon, the player needs to level it up near a mossy rock in the northern section of Lush Jungle. In order to evolve Crabrawler into Crabominable, the player needs to level it up on Mount Lanakila. In order to evolve an Eevee into a Glaceon, the player needs to level it up near an icy rock in Mount Lanakila. In order to evolve a Magneton into a Magnezone and a Nosepass into a Proboass, the player needs to level it up in either Blush Mountain or Vast Poni Canyon.

Generation 8 (Pokémon Sword/Shield)

All location-based evolutions cannot occur inPokémon SwordandShield. They were all scrapped and replaced with Evolution Stone evolutions. Eevee now turns into a Leafeon when exposed to a Leaf Stone, or a Glaceon when exposed to an Ice Stone. Charjabug now evolves into Vikavolt when exposed to a Thunder Stone. Magneton now evolves into Magnezone when exposed to a Thunder Stone. It's unclear how Nosepass will evolve in the future, as it was one of the Pokémon that was cut inPokémon Sword & Shield. Nosepass becomes Rock/Steel-type when it evolves into Probopass, so it might be a Metal Coat trade evolution. Crabrawler also isn't present inPokémon SwordandShield, but it will likely use an Ice Stone in the future.
